iconnects audio cables?

Hi guys,

As the title states, has anyone worked with it before? I have a stage 2 kit for running 2 10" type R subs, vx1400d planet audio amp, a head unit, and (for now) stock interior speakers powered by optima yellow top. I am worried about the reliability of this product, has anyone had trouble with it?

What gauge wiring is it?

With the system your running, I would suggest 4 gauge and at least an 80A fuse

I was given this kit about a year ago, what I'm worried about is if it's going to affect the sound quality at all... the last thing I want to do is have to rip it all out if I run into problems. Included in the kit is:

1 Farad Cap
18' Remote wire
3' 4 Gauge ground wire
18' 4 gauge power wire
32' 16 gauge pro speaker wire
16' twisted pair audio interconnect
also includes assorted terminals, ties, and AGU glass fuse holder (<-looks kinda cheap)

i've used their rca's and they seem to do the job. they certainly look better than the walmart rca's i have lying around. in terms of quality i'd say they're pretty good. the only thing i would say is if you happen to change amps down the road pull on the plug itself and not the cable, i accidentally did that and ripped the cable right out and then had to take out my whole rca cable and solder it back together. it wasn't a huge deal, just time consuming and annoying

thanks for the replys,

but I guess my real question here is whether or not you can cheap out on car audio wiring, or are wiring kits like iconnects as good as big names such as stinger, etc.

umm, i would say not to cheap out. you might notice when you compare a stinger kit to one of those no name kits that the jacket around the wire is thicker on the no name than on the stinger kit but they both claim to be 4 gauge kits. i'm running an 8 guage stinger kit now and a friend of mine in his old car ran a 5 gauge kit he got at walmart (i know, who heard of a 5 gauge kit). in any case, that wire in theory should have been thicker than mine but it reall just looked like a thicker jacket, and even then it wasn't that much bigger.

good wire is always better than the cheap stuff. as for whether or not iconnects counts ans good or cheap, i really have no idea. i can tell you stinger makes good wire, i can tell you that knukonceptz makes good wire, and i can tell you not to buy a kit from walmart or cash converters

the iconnects stuff is ok. the rca cabels are better then the red and white one you can get for 5 bucks anywhere but do not compair to anything great. the cap is no good tho. it might as well be filled with sand. power wire is ok not all that flexible but with only 4 awg it should be fine.
