Line output level 2.5V vs 5V question from a newb

Does it really matter in an external amp setup?

Can't seem to find an online guide about it. Care to explain it a bit further. Please.

it only chance where you set your gains at, on the external amp. but pefromance and quality wise you wont hear the difference between the two.

Isnt that enough? The fact the your not bombing your amp into clipping means your ear will hear all those note that werent there before.

And your less likely to burn up your subs... That is assuming you dont just leave the gains turned up and keep the amp clipping

why would you drive your amps into clipping anyways?

you can drive them into clipping with any input voltage

I agree. But people tend to turn there amps up too far trying to compensate for the low voltage. So with the higher volt preouts they would get the same volume properly without causing the amp to clip.
