volt or amp
Do your head lights dim when you have the stereo turned up loud? if not then your electrical system is fine and not affecting anything.
If your head lights do dim then start with the "big 3". If that don't solve the problem either a bigger battery or larger alternator is needed.
Now you say you only have a 300w rms amplifier, thats not very large, your car should handle that just fine.

cause your 6x9's are designed to take 100w rms, your head unit only puts out 22w rms if that. Your speakers are seriously underpowered, that can hurt them when they are turned up loud. When those speakers die, either buy cheap ones that don't want much power or get a 4 ch amp to power them now along with the front speakers.
I do plan on getting an amp eventually..but I cant afford one right now. I need new parking break cables before I do anything.
Is their a store in canada that sells K&N products. Im really liking the idea of replacing the intake and the filter.

Going by your sig, the amp for your sub is much larger then what you need, keep the gain down low on the amp. Kinda strange you had to turn the gain up to get more bass, you could be wrecking the sub doing that.
sub amp is rated at 500w rms, one guy claimed to get 654w rms on the birth sheet. the sub is rated at 350w rms so....
