Need advice plz!

Would loose RCA's at the deck cause the amp to overheat? MY subs volume comes in and out when I hit bumps or if I push a bit on the radio. Im fixing it this weekend but it seems my amps heats up more than usual yet it never shuts off. For now I shut the sub output off on my radio but every now and then theres a rumble of sound that comes out of the subs. Its at random intervals so I can't figure out if it was noise at a certain rpm or what. For now I just disconnected the RCA's at the amp and the 12v rem

Loose RCA's will not cause the amp downstream to overheat.

You can short out the RCA's and the amp will be fine, the head unit won't like it though

check your amp ground. My amps where overheating too, due to an improper ground. maybe your wires loose.

My amp was installed at a local shop but was stolen not to long ago. The thief was kind enough to have left all the wiring so I just bought a new amp and hooked it back up, but I never checked the grounds. I just took a quick look now and it seems the shop that installed used a small tex screw for a 4ga loop and I guess from my amp being pulled out must of loosened it leaving barely any contact. The shop has either closed (go figure) or move so I am going to do it right this weekend. Hope that solve my issue.
