oh yeah, im running mtx thunder elete 1500 with the two mtx 8000 4 ohm final load,, 625w@14.4,, i have 2 alternators 3 batteries and 2 caps,, plenty of voltage and ther is no volt drop to the amp from the alternators..anyways,, plz help this rookie

A 2:1 ratio is a good start, so you could try 5 or even 6 cubes net for the ported side. I'd try a 12x10 port for 120 sq in of port area, 226 seems excessive, and the port length for 45-50hz tune would be ridiculous.

You could also consider running the amp at 1 ohm with the gain turned down, to get it to play around 1000w for the pair or so.

thank you for replying

ok so you first said to run the amp at 1 oh. with the gain turned down,,as far as i know i dont think its 1 ohm stable, i know it was tested at 2 ohm and produced 1625w at 14.4v and at 4 ohms it produced 625w at 14.4, so in all acuality im only giving each speaker 312.5w and my volts drop to 13.9 at full load for a split sec.then returns to 14.4 and holds it....iv gone through so manny speakers,,blowing them up,,lol, and not the cheep ones either, i first sstarted out with l7 then to the mtx 8500 then to the 8000 and when everything comes together these things will be way plenty enough for me,i had essentually the same system differant box,, smaller,, in a silverado short cab, i hit 141 spl and 105db,, no iv moved and improved several things and installed it in my caviler coupe,, it hits way harder, sounds deeper, and oh so cleen and well lets just say i got everything i ever wanted in a sterio, it took 5 years to accomidateall this equipment..upgrades and what not have led me to what i have today about 2 years old except the subs, there new, replacments under warrintee..
so now thats out of the way, you said the port for 45-50 htx would be ridiculious,, exactly what do you call redicilous, mtx said 226 cubic inches,, surface area. and said something about the end of the port but i didnt get what he was tralking about.. anyways,, hope i can get some help with this..oh yeah, the reason i chose between 45-50 hts is i read that 4th gen boxes sound best between those htz.
