Need help Please "Tunning"Kind of.

OK this is the first time ever that i cared to tune one of my installs.
The install consists of two FOSGATE DVC 15" in a sealed 1.74 cuft per sub
Dual voicl coil 4ohm wired in parrallel to a FOSGATE 800 a2. One sub to each channel so the load is2 ohm to each channel (checked with the meter actual load is 2.7ohm at the amp)

The amplifier has gain control's (set at 3/4 up)
also has "hp-md-lp" set to lp
also has frequency dial (have no idea were to set this thing manual for subs says 80-100 but that seems high to me for 15"s)
The amp also has a bass boost external ****

The amp is wired to an old school presige line driver
On this line driver i again have a filter set to low pass
Then i have a switch for "phase" (Don't know what the heck to put that up or down)
then their is a stereo mono switch (which i have on stereo since the amp is not bridged)
then their is a switch saying +8db Boost at 40htz
and their is another switch parrale to that switch can't read it
The last control is a gain control turned to 3/4

All this is wired in a ford econoline with 4 gauge wiring and a 1 farad cap.

My questions are. When I purchased the box subs amp used The box was way larger 3cuft per sub I cut it down because i needed it to fit under the bench seat in the van. Box is tight Because i know that's vital And it has that dampaning material insied didn't know what that was for so i re cut it and left it.

Anyways so I wanna know, Is this setup not supose to slam the screws loose on this truck doesn't seem to be loud enough if i drop the frequency on the amp to anything under 70 htz the speakes begin to just buzz very loudly, That is when I turn up the external bass boost ****. So how the heck do I tune this were do I start
Thanks Guys.

Sounds like you're managing to filter out the low frequencies somehow.

Are you running a factory deck? Big issue with factory decks is that they'll forcefully filter out all the low frequency goodness, unless you get one of those bass booster modules.

Where are you getting your signal from to feed the amp, are you using pre-outs? or did you scrap the rear speakers?

Have you ever run a sub in this van before?

If you're still running the factory deck, strongly suggest scrapping it. Aftermarket decks make life so much easier.

The amp is being fed from a "prestige" Line driver. which is getting a signal from a jensen deck. (not the greatest but it's a dvd player 7"inch screen) . and this deck has a seperate subwooffer preout. The subs are not wired backwards ( I was very about which wire goes were positive and negative feeds are two seperate wires red and black)
Thanks for your feedback guys anyone else.

try without the line driver. just RCA's from the back of the deck to the amp. see what that does

I think you've choked out the subs with the very small enclosure for 15" subs.
It may also be possible that you've wired the subs out of phase from one another either at the sub, or the amp.

I've seen DVC's hooked up out of phase all on their own. Not to say that you've done this, but it has been done.

One sub wired out of phase or too small a enclosure, that is how I read the issue as well.

I'd switch the line driver to mono and wire that 800.2 mono not in stereo. If the two RF 15's are already wired to 2 - 2 ohm loads then here's what to do. Take the Left positive from your amp wire to the positive of the first sub, then take the negative of the first sub and wire it to the positive of the second sub, then wire the negative of the second sub to the Right negative on your amp. Amp should see somewhere around 4 ohms and will play a lot louder and more evenly then in stereo.

Good luck!
