Newly installed Hertz Mille MLK2 TW components, woofers not working right.

Hey guys I got my system professionally installed 3 years ago, upgraded the deck last year, and just got a speaker upgrade.

I'm running kenwood dnx 9140 with audison LRx 5.1 and upgraded my fronts to hertz mille components MLK 2 TW and the tweeters sound amazing...

As for the woofers my rear hertz high energy on the b channel of the amp seem to be working fine but the new 1600 fronts are doing practically no bass.

Technician spent hours working on my setup and no matter what no significant amount of bass.

I think it must be something to do with the passive crossovers. Or he's got it hook'd up wrong.

Any help on the topic would be greatly appreciated.

Regards, Mike.

Disconnect one woofer to see if you have magically got more bass or not. This could be a simple out of phase issue.

Ok, you have your rear High Energy on the B channel of your LRx 5.1. I am assuming this is the LRx 5.1k amplifier? If this is so then what do you have the new Mille front hooked to? If it is channel A then there is your problem. This amp is designed to run a component set like the Mille actively (ie. no crossovers). If you have the entire set on the A channel using the passive, then those mids are only getting about 55 watts. That is never going to move those ML1600s. My suggestion is one of two things. 1. and best. Lose the High Energy rear and run active. Mids on B channel (170 watts rms) and tweets on A channel (55 watts rms). 2. Run the rears on A channel (55 watts) and run the front Mille on the B channel (170 watts) and keep the passive crossovers. Fro pure sq you want the first but you might need a processor like an Audison Bit One to get the most out of that. Hope it helps.

Try bypassing the hi pass crossover on the front channels. If it solves the problem try turning it back on and setting it very low like around 50Hz. Let us know what happens.

what james mentioned is the most correct answer. if you have the milles to channel A, obviously they aren't going to sound good at all.
