Noise in the speakers

Ok this might sound weird. But i cant seem to locate the issue.

When i'm driving, the higher the rev of the car, the louder the noise gets. Its kinda like a squealing noise. When i hit a bump, the noise rumbles a little. So it leads me to believe its a wire somewhere thats not grounded right. Thing is i checked pretty much everything i can think of thats associated with the sound system. What makes it weird is the noise gets louder when the rev is higher. I think thats why i havn't found my problem cause i'm not looking at the right place. Any ideas what could cause this?

Not sure about hitting the bumps and the rumbling but the rest sounds like alternator noise. I had it in my truck for a bit and it will get louder with revs. Make sure all your grounds are tight and sanded down to bare metal. Sounds like a loose connection somewhere. Are the power and ground wires run together?

thx for the reply.

ok so i have one 4 gauge going into a split box in the trunk from the battery.

the split box is like a "T" then i got 2 X 8 gauge wires in the box. one feeding my amp for the sub and the other feeding my amp for the peakers. The groud though is not at the same place. i checked both grounds and they are very tight. No way its coming loose.

But since you mention the alternator, its possible, but this problem has been going on for years. i bought the car in florida when i lived there, it would only do it sometimes and one day i rewired my system to make sure... never happened again. (2 years ago). June 08 i moved back to canada..so i drove my car here. I blew the engine after crossing the boarder. So even after replacing the engine, this is still happening. when i hit a bump, it makes me believe theres a wire loose somewhere the hits metal. but where..lol

anyways i hope the extra lil info helps a bit

thx again for the reply

The duke

I'm sure someone with more experience will chime in but if it was good until you replaced the motor I would check the alternator grounds and well as the chassis ground. Try doing the big three and see if it makes a difference. I know how frustrating it can be to chase noise!

well i think i found the problem. Having you mention the alternator, and my step father... we took a looks at it and when i started the car the wire going from the alt to the starter was loose...it was sparking (i think thats why my battery died often too...lol) and as far as the screach9ing noise in the speakers. it seems it was a unused RCA coming from the back of the cd player that was touching metal. I've been driving all day with no problems now. Hopefully it stays like that! But thx alot for the second brain i needed :P
