remoteless amps???

I'm surprised this isn't out yet.

Get this! An amp that does not need a remote wire.
Instead, the amp will turn on when it see's audio output from the RCA's. Its freakin genius.

Not much of a benefit other then one less wire to hook up but still.

I cant see any reason why it would be a bad idea how about you guys?

k I just thought of one.

No good for the people who have there remote wire on a toggle switch for a quick kill of there sub.

can you guys think of any other reason why building amps this way would be a bad thing.

after how many second of inactivity to have it shutdown? i can see a song with no bass for 1 min and then you miss the first note because the amp shut itself off when the bass kick back in... other than that it's a cool idea. My home sub is like that and will shutdown after 10 minutes, but in a car you want a faster kill time.

I almost positive that even with nothing playing the RCA still see current. not until the deck shuts down will it kill the signal.

Im going to go test this right now.

In rare cases the remote wire doesn't have enough juice to turn on multiple amplifiers... besides that there is really no reason for it. It makes sense for high level inputs but RCA's, not so much.

What compagnies have that?

MTX has had this feature for years. They call it Smart Engage

Bazooka had this on its amplified tubes way back from day one.

Some LOCs like the Re-Q have this feature as well - they will generate a remote on lead for your amps that is controlled by signal on the inputs.
