are you saying i should disconnect the power and ground wire going into the amp and then hook up the power wire back before the ground?
i will try that tomorrow. But can you explain to me (just educate myself) how connecting the power first before the ground prevents noise.
thanks alot

Think hes saying hook up power/ground before you use the RCAs to ground the amp?

thats not what he is saying, see the question mark????, he's asking you a question !

am so tired of the audio thing in my car. debated for so long on getting an aftermarket nav sysytem and then got it and then comes problem of sound, sound quality etc up and down.
History...(November -Yesterday)
Got an eclipse avn 5496 unit which works fine with my stock speakers. Decided to upgrade stock speakers with aftermarket infinity refs, and then debated whether or not to use the eclipse internal amp or not. after much installing and uninstalling, i decided to get a 5 channel amp. Got an alpine v12. All worked fine except the 5th channel was not 2 ohm stable and i did not want to damage the amp. So i sold it and started searching for a decent 5 channel amp or even a 4 channel and a mono amp.
I was without music for almost 3 weeks since i already sold my alpine V12. i got a 2 channel amp from a friend just to run the fronts while searching for a 5channel and noticed that the speakers were crackling and popping when connected. also they was a 'shhhhhhhhh" sound from the tweeters constanly. i thought it was the amp. i then got a jl300/4 and a jl 200/2 from a local guy. the jl300/4 did the same thing and the volume was not even loud as the internal eclipse amp. Also, the jl200/2 was DOA. Returned the JLs and proceeded to purchase the new nine.5 by element design in hopes of solving all my problems. All this while i had wires connected to the stock speaker harness and then tapped into the speaker wires at each door to connect my aftermarket speakers. in other words, the speaker wires were to me to long and unneccessary. I knew of ground problems and wiring etc, so i decided to do it right once and for all. Which brings us to the present.
Present Day(Today)....
I regrounded the nine.5 to the frame of the car which is one of the best grounding spots, then disconnected the speaker wiress from the stock harness in a bid to open all the door panels and rewire each w\speaker directly to the amp. i got some new RCAs also.
I connected the amp to the power, ground and remote turn on and then proceeded to run the new RCAs since the old ones had metal tipswhich made crackling noises in speakers whenever they touched each other(keep in mind it worked fine with the alpine V12 although i had to use some ground loop ispolators to eliminate engine whine which was not the same as the crackling/popping sound now).
I rewired the first driver door speaker carefully(let us keep in mind that i am not sure whether the speakers were blown from the previous experinces with the other amps), and then wired it to the nine.5. turned it on expecting it to blast and all that but volume was low and tweeter was not even functioning. At this time the PRT "protection light on the amp" came on which amazed cos only that one speaker was connected to the amp. both through regular speaker connections and RCAs. also, the power wire fuse running from the battey pops. That baffled me cos the only thing connected to the amp was that one speaker. the ground, remote and power wires were nice and tight with no loose wiring or stuff like that. but on the element design website it says that If your driving one part of the amplifier too hard it’s active communication system protects the entire amplifier.Maybe thats why the light came on.am not sure but even so, they was no evident music coming from the speakers. Well,i put in another fuse for the power wire.
Okay, at this point, i said to myself "maybe that speaker was blown from the previous amps" i proceeded to wire the rear driver rear speaker to the amp cos the rears have never had a problem. i do this and the "PRT"light does not come on but there is absolutely no sound from the speakers. Both the driver front and rear which were wired in. I rewired the passenger side rear to the amp and same thing. No sound from all three speakers. i checked the power and there was power. all connections looked and seemed right. i checked the RCAs running into the eclipse avn and there were in and secured both in the deck and amp. speaker wires were in correctly but still no sound/ buzz/ music/distortion/pop whatsoever from speakers.
i was at this stage so depressed and not motivated to rewire the passenger side front speaker yet until i get this resolved. Cos three speakers is enough to test the set-up.
So here i am very frustrated that am not enjoying my sound sytem which i started putting in since last winter in hopes of enjoying it in the summer.
I absolutly love the nav unit and all and should have probably kept on using the v12 and just gottena 4ohm sub instead of trying to switch it all withanother amp. but that is minor cos if all is well, they should function fine9speakers etc).
Like i said, i love the unit and all but if i cannot figure this out, then its back to stock stereo, sub and speakers(good thing i still have them in my closet). And that would also mean back to getting lost in town without the eclipse navigation system.
so if you like me help me cos am so frustrated right now as to how a simple speaker wire to amp and RCAs from amp to deck and power, ground and remote wires to amp is not bringing ANY sound.
car has been torn apart a million times and i can do it with my eyes closed now but am tired of it and might just go back to stock.
its very annoying that i even had to rewire the entire car speakers yesterday and then this. now i have to drive my sisters dodge neon which moves like a turtle while my car is apart( door panels etc).
so please help if you can.
sorry for the long story but this thread, believe or not, is what will decide whether or not am back to stock. Am tired and frustrated and will try only one more time at this sound system thing cos i need to enjoy the summer.are my speakers toast? is new amp toast? am i forgetting to plug in something?
Thanks alot and for your patience to read through the long story but loosing my mind and tired of working in the basement or parking lot of my condo while everyone stares at me.

thanks for whatsoever help anyone renders.

just give up in all honesty, if you bought a 5channel amp, you would usually use it for 5.1 surround. you should have done your research. so your whole problem is u had no idea wtf u bought, u just plug an play a bunch of random and expect it to sound amazing. Good luck.
