Sub Power?? Help please

I have a cheap 300W 10" sub kit w/ amp and I blew the sub. The Amp is fine but I'm looking to replace the sub. I'm assuming a 300W subwoofer is best but can I get a 250W sub? or anything else? or am I stuck with looking for a 300W amp.
thanks guys

post up the amp that you are using and we can make specific suggestions for subs to replace the one that you blew.

It's a cheap Visonik 300W 10" sub w/ 300w peak amplifier. I bought it as a kit. It was working fine until I let my co-worker use my car to get lunch... that's when he blew the sub. Friggin jerk.

the one from xs cargo....correct?

get a rockford fosgate punch p1. they are 150w rms and will do good with that amp, as i believe it puts out 150rms. the specs are identical!

******the p1 is 300w max 150rms. good match!
