Too much power?

Here is my situation. If I were to get the Memphis MCH1300 which is rated at 1100W at 1 ohm on 14.4V and connected this to my pair of Cerwin-Vega 10" DVC subs with these specs:

# Frequency Response: 20-500 Hz
# Impedance: 4 ohms/coil
# Mounting Depth: 4 5/8" (118 mm)
# Mounting Diameter: 9" (227 mm)
# Peak Power (Maximum): 300 watts
# RMS (Continuous) Power: 150 watts
# Sensitivity: (2.8v/1m): 88 dB

Would this be too much power for my subwoofers?

Um yes, with that much extra power you are more than likely going to be finding some new subs in a hurry. You could rewire the subs to 4 ohm and knock the amps power way down to something more reasonable but it is a big waste of $ on this amp to do so.

The MCH600 is plenty to run what you brung.

If you plan on upgrading subs in the future and feel the MCH600 won't have a big enough sub channel opt for the MCH1300 now and run your subs at 4ohm until you upgrade.
