Question USB keys and cold temperature

Hi,

I just installed a new deck in my car and it has a USB port. I am enjoying it a lot but I just started to wonder and I looked at the specs of almost all USB keys I could find:

Do USB keys work fine in winter?

Most USB keys mention an operating temperature between 0 C and 35 C. Does anybody used a USB key in winter when temperatures were -20 or -30 C ? Does it still work even if under specifications of 0 C ?

it's -30 inside of your car? i'd take care of your heater before worrying about USB.

At 6h00 AM on a very cold morning, it can be before the heater warms the car (I don't have a remote starter and a car needs only 30 seconds of idle running when starting from cold), and I most of the time don't drive far enough for the car to heat a lot

Thanks,

Then I'll see what it does this winter . If the USB fails, I'll burn MP3 CDs, these won't fail.

The beauty of the USB deck is there are no parts to spin. I've had problems with condensation on discs and tapes that play SLOOOOW. I've had no issues over the past two winters with my USB headunit.

my thumb drive is allways in the van from -45 to 35 degrees. work no problem and i usually dont heat up the van before leaving so its running at the -some degrees without any trouble. just get some cheapos from wally world or something for like 15$ for a gig. or if you shop around you can get cheaper or bigger for the price.
