Question What Slope Should My Subsonic Filter Be?

I have the option through my DSP to utilize up to a 48dB Linkwitz-Riley High Pass as my subsonic filter. Should I stick with the standard 24dB Linkwitz or would a 36dB/48dB be better? I know 24dB is recommended for crossovers, but given that there is no "crossover" at the subsonic range does that standard even apply?
