i'm jesus...

i just designed it on RE Audio's L-Port enclosure calculator. I took into account that its not an accurate program, and i know its flaws. its the best i can do without any specs

normally, the generule rule for a 15" woofer is 2-2.5 cubes sealed and 3-5 cubic feet ported

Here is the manual:

Recommended box volume is 4 ft^3 per sub tuned at 32 hz....sealed may be the way to go.

BUt anyways, isnt 6 Ft^3 a lil big for a sealed enclosure or is that needed to hit the lows? Also whata bout runing the subs inseries to get an 8ohm load making it easier on the amp? or what about bridging?? I duno what bridging does with ohm handling =d
OK.....

HTB = Home Theater in a Box

RCA you know

LOC = Line Output Converter - drops speaker level outputs down to RCA level voltages.

The large enclosure size will extend the frequency response of the enclosure lower. This come at a price....the power handling of the driver goes down, but since you will only be using 100-150w per side they should be fine. It also results in a "fatter" bottom end which can be handy during movie sound effects. If they sound too "loose" to your ear during music or whatever, you can throw things in the box to take up some airspace and "tighten" up the sound. That's one of the advantages of using a sealed box in this situation.

I would think all the extra hardware required to use car audio amps and processors would pretty much equal what it will cost for the right home equipment....and then there's the extra hassle of putting it all together.....

If you run the drivers in series for that 8ohm load, you should get a mono subwoofer plate amp as suggested above. Not only will you get more power than a typical home stereo amp or receiver, it will have gain and xover controls on it to help with the setup. Having looked at the specs for that particular amp, it does 500w at a 4ohm....sooo......you could build a box for 1 of the subs (around 2.5cuft or so) and just shove it in a corner.....

Even a single 15" sub with 500w in a small to medium room will generate a lot of bass.....hopefully the rest of the system will keep up......
