ya I guess you have to make sure you feed "em good clean signal :-)

and I will tell him as soon as he get's get about the amplifier!.. but another thing I'm curious about!.. does it mather how you connect the voice coils? I mean, he's got two dual 2 ohms 12" so does it make a diff. if you put each sub to 4 ohms then 2 ohms, or each sub down to 1 ohm then connect them together to a 2 ohms load. can you go either way on this?

thanks

Your best bet to get the most efficiency out of the amp and subs, would be to wire each sub to 4 ohms. This will give the amp a 2 ohm load (which is where it gets most of its power). The amp will not be handle two subs at 1 ohm each. good luck

actually if they're wired in series it'll be a 2ohm load as well. So you can either parallel the dual 2 ohm coils to give you 1 ohm each and then series them to give you 2ohms final, or, series the dual 2 ohms to give 4ohms each and then parallel them to give you a 2ohm final...either way it won't make a difference sound wise.

1600W split across both, or to each?

Split to each, so each sub is getting 800 watts RMS each.
