Another noob sub enclosure question

Hey all!
First off, great site! I’m just about to take the plunge and start working on upgrading my sound system from factory.

Is there an ideal shape for a sub enclosure as long as it has the manufactures recommended volume? From reading the forums I see a lot of the standard rectangle shapes and was thinking about something a little different to save some truck space.

Material for the box: What thickness of MDF should I use for a sub enclosure? ¾ for bottom, top, sides and glue two pieces together for the front?

Sealing the enclosure: Glued and screwed with liquid nails? Just wondering how many screws to use, one every 4 inches?

Thanks
Andrew

hahaha, welcome to CCA.

3/4 to 1" MDF for enclosures. I use LePage wood glue, and air nailer now. If your going to use screws take the time to pre-drill the holes.

Shape doesn't make a big difference. Mostly port size/tuning (if going ported) and enclosure internal volume are the most important.
