begging of a wall.....

begining of a wall.....

i need help!!! i would consider myself a skilled builder when it comes to boxes.... but i havent the faintest clue of where to start for building a wall in the back of my car(the car is a 4dr 86' vw golf already decided on removing back seats and welding rear doors shut...) i have 4 12" pioneer preimeir's any advice info/pictures would be a life saver

Cardboard is your friend. Make the face out of cardboard first and see if you can remove it from the car without having to fold or twist it. If you do the face will have to be put together inside the car in at least 2 pieces.

yes i can fit it in and out in one piece no problem... rear doors wont be getting welded up till the wall is in... atm im more concerned with mounting said wall and the enclosure itself

Even with a wall an enclosure behind the woofers is needed and because of that you may not have to weld the doors shut.

for the wall to be effective in the space that i have within the car, it will be approximatly half way up the rear doors, so at that point i really didnt care about modifying the car to the point of welding the doors shut once the wall is glassed into place

As long as you have access to the rear once the doors are welded, I would have to say go for it. Try to get a digital camera going and make a build log, and should you run into problems you will have pictures which allows everyone else to better help ya so much more.

yeah and if you take pics you can do a write up on a diy to help out others once you are done and i can tell you by the way it sounds your car will look sick with the box and wall with the doors welded ive seen it before and it looked real good

thnx for the feed back everyone but my project will be on hold for awhile, was in a pretty nasty car accident earlier on this month

build the box as big as you can and stock the battery in the back
