best box for mtx sub

hey guys, i have a 10" mtx mxs (7500) 400rms powered by rockford fosgate punch 450.2 briged to get 450 watts rms. i built the sealed box to the specs in the mtx manual to the (0.75 cu ft) but if any of you guys ever seen the size of this sub you will understand that at list half of air space in the box is the magnet and frame of the sub. i have a 2004 aveo hatch so i was happy with the size of the box caz i still has 3/4 of my hatch. don't get me wrong this thing pounds realy hard for 1 10", but i want to take it to 100% of its potential, but still have it hit low ( the sub freq responce is 44-150 by the way).

any sugestions?

Big box, about 1.5-1.75 int but you might push it beyond it limits with that much power to it.

would that box still be sealed or ported? why would the sub hadle less power in a biger box? heard rummors that my sub can take up to 800watts rms with no cliping from the amp, any truth in that?

also mtx manual has a sugestied ported box specs (1.45 cu ft) would that be my best bet.

should i trust mtx when they say those boxs were rigurasly tested with the sub to achive best sound?

Build the ported box in the manual.
It works pretty well.
