Lol... No not hardly. I'm doing a build in my xb where I have enough room to do (2) 12's ported which should be about 4 cu ft + port. My initial estimates put me around 5.7 cu ft of internal space if you count the space displaced by 16/1 square port. So i'm sitting there thinking to myself, what else could fit in 6 cu ft of space... a single ported 15 could but the 12's have the sd advantage and heat dissipation advantage so fail there. Some single ported 18s could but there isnt much in the way of single 18's in 4.5 net that will take the 6k daily that I'm planning to deliver to it. Any type of bandpass/horn/tline is just going to be more space. Then it hit me... Sealed 18's. The 12's will likely peak higher by a couple db right at tuning but it rolls off so quickly outside of tuning that the 18's should be louder at nearly all other frequencies. To the meter the 12's would likly win but the 18's will be louder daily which is my goal. At this point I'm still looking for the right sub. Currently its looking like the Nighshade and SP4 could be potential candidates but I'm open to others. Turns out there isn't much demand for 2500w sealed 18s lol

 

So true. Used to be most brands had 8/10/12/15/18 in each of their lines. Not so much anymore..
