i dont know about for your room but i have these 2 of these same subs in a ported bass slammers box and have them in a suburban right now and a grand cherokee once before and love them, but if you can figure out how to power them in your room the box should be the least of your worries

I LOVE XPlOD 01-31-2009 04:15 PM

its already done i just need a better box i have had my set up in my room for 3 years now its all good what are you putting to each sub for power i have 900w mono block powering my sub right now and it pounds pretty good but i want a lil extra low end and i should get that with a ported box tune at 30hz @ 2cu ft3

I LOVE XPlOD 01-31-2009 04:18 PM

ya the box i have now is a bit to small for my sub i think 1.3cu ft3 thats a bit small i would think that would be for a 10'' sub here is the box http://www.bassslammer.com/products/...mmerBS112S.pdf

greer racing 01-31-2009 05:18 PM

i only have a little sony amp running mine, the spec sheet for a single 12 says a sealed box 1.25 cu ft and 2.00 cu ft for a vented box so the box you have is fine and pretty good for a pre fab box.

the bass slammer dual ported box i have is 3.00 cu ft and its nothing fancy or a "killer" system but it works for me. my suburban is probably pretty close to the size of your room and on top of that im cheap but picky lol.

this may piss people off but buy the cheapest pre fab ported box you can find and try it out, sounds like you have the right ideas and to be honest these subs arnt like $1000 monsters so who cares if its all perfect. not trying to offend you, thats just the way i see things as id never say something so bold if i didnt like, use them myself

greer racing 02-02-2009 12:50 PM

looks good, any house carpet to blend it in? lol j/k. when i had my big box in my room all it did was hold my lunch box and the odd hand full of paper work lol

flip it around so the port is on the top, might work better

TragicMagic 02-02-2009 01:13 PM

It looks like you have a pretty nasty gap at the bottom right corner. If so, that's going to be a problem for you.

It also appears that you only have one screw holding the port wall on the bottom of the enclosure.

I wouldn't be surprised if you're redoing this enclosure in a little while.

I LOVE XPlOD 02-02-2009 02:06 PM

ya i ran out of screws and it is sealed right up nothingto worrie about lol it sounds really good though

fox_racin4 02-02-2009 07:15 PM

also looks like ur port isnt "squre" with the back wall?

I LOVE XPlOD 02-02-2009 07:52 PM

ya but i fixed it all up its good now and sounds really good to :)

I LOVE XPlOD 02-02-2009 07:55 PM

ya but its all fixed up now i looks good and sounds good to im happy with it :D

I LOVE XPlOD 02-03-2009 10:50 AM

now should i paint it or do carpet ? if i pant it what color

jalat 02-03-2009 10:56 AM

i honestly, honestly believe you should buil a new enclosure done properly. not trying to sound like a dick, but that enclosure if way off from the original blueprint.

I LOVE XPlOD 02-03-2009 12:05 PM

ok for now its good enoff and it sounds good

I hope you backup your data on that hard disk bc it will soon fail... I switched to SSD because at the office i have a 12" Klipsch sub under my desk and i already kill 2 drives with the vibration.

Be careful

I LOVE XPlOD 02-05-2009 12:42 AM

holy i will keep that in mind is that a car audio sub ??

ryannow 02-05-2009 02:02 AM

those subs are actually pretty loud. i've got mine in a sealed 1.25cuft box in the trunk of my car and it still blurs my vision.

I LOVE XPlOD 02-05-2009 11:00 PM

ya they can get loud how many chanel is your amp ?? if im right the subs are getting 400w each so im guessing its 2 chanel

No it's home audio, Synergy Sub-12 and i have a pair of Audioengine 5 for the mid/high.

It help for those long night at the office...

I LOVE XPlOD 02-06-2009 12:41 AM

ya thatsa nice setup you got but now im wondering if i should switch two 2psu for my sub amp or stick with my battery ??

lpchouinard 02-06-2009 01:00 AM

The batt is good for power but bad for your health... you should try to find some used UPS and get the sealed lead battery in those. When i need to replace the batt in one of those there's 4 cell but often only one bad but i need to replace the entire kit... They should look like this

I LOVE XPlOD 02-06-2009 05:27 PM

thats what i am useing right now is that ok ??

I LOVE XPlOD 02-06-2009 05:27 PM

but mine is a bit bigger its not a car battery though

If it is one of the sealed type you should be okay. Post up a pic of it if you can. I ASSumed you were using a reg car battery.

Wow very nice in black!

For the battery that's exactly it, no toxic fume :smilie_da

I LOVE XPlOD 02-06-2009 11:41 PM

lol thank you and thats good now wireing what should i be useing for wire gage wise im guessing 8 min just want to no and im think of getting a cap because it storess power and helps bass resnce and also how do you hook up a cap i got showen but i for got thanks

lpchouinard 02-07-2009 12:10 AM

forget the cap, when you power directly from the batt like you're doing a cap will not help. If you are running from a PS then maybe.

For the wire you can use 8 or 10 gauge since the batt look like it is near the amp (max 2ft?). I would put a fuse right after the + terminal on the batt to prevent any accident Also you could build a small box for the batt and charger...

I LOVE XPlOD 02-07-2009 12:40 AM

ok for the cap and is it tru that it improves bass responce ?? and i was thinking of buliding a box for thebattery and the charger i have another pc case i i might just do that but it might be to small for my charger lol but i will post pics if it works pretty soon though its time for a new battery mine is starting to die faster and faster every day lol

my amp is a monoblock with 2 of those subs wired down to 2ohms. so yeah, 400w each, they're rated for 300.
