Whether the blocked ports act as additional airspace or not is negligible. If anything it would tune a hair lower but you'll never hear it.

How about more details on your setup? What size is the enclosure, what vents are you currently experimenting with (size, length, quantity)?

box was originally built 4.4ft before displacement. It was tuned to 34hz. I liked it however it did not get down low as well I wanted. I decided to use the box as my test bed with the intention of having one custom built. I don't want to invest the money unless I have an idea of if I like the sound or not.

So...I ported the box for both 30hz and 36hz. The 36hz was definitely louder but the bottom end sucked. The 30 hz had a little bettedr bottom end however I found the sub was very fluttery and did not blend well with my fronts.

I also have a sealed box which was 1.1ft per chamber and found that the SQ was nice however would not dig as deep as I wanted.

SO, today I plugged up my ported box and ran sealed with a 4tf2 enclosure. Sounds exactly like what I want. SO it seems that I am decided on the sealed box. I purchased some polyfill to stuff my sealed box hoping it would bring out the bottom end. If it does it'll be great as i'll get some much needed trunk space back.

My subs say 1.25ft2 optimum for sealed. Would there be any issue with running them at 2ft2 per sub? I know if it gets to a certain point that it basically becomes infinite baffle but am I okay at 2ft2 per sub?

Depends on your definition of ok. If they stay in control then you're fine.

Any tell tale signs that they are not in control. They sound nice and clean. No hints of distortion.

You'd hear it if they were unloading.
