callin all trunk specalists
Mike Steirs told me exactly what one person said on this post. Build the biggest box possible, with the biggest port possible and then just play with tuning. I have the feeling that in your other box the port was too small cause you said it was 3.5 by 11 or something like that and that is too small if you have an 8 cubic foot box you should have like a 120 square inch slot port. For some reason small ports don't seem to work well when the woofer and the port are both forwards.

that one was too small i kno, that was a first attempt but it got me my highest score to date. all the others i've tried have been biggest box possible or close to it and the port biggest as i could to which is about 8X11 X whatever lengthbut its always the tuning that i can't stand on those boxes, i can't stand ripping out my entire interior just to get the box in and then take out the subs to tune it and hope that they seal properly when i screw them back in cuz i'm doin this all myself there is no one to help hold the sub while i screw it in... i just suck at this whole spl thing
If you can't get the sub in properly then just sit on the back seat, push it in and then hold it in place with your foot...If you push your foot against the bottom of the sub and then put in a couple screws it will stay in just fine for the rest.
