custom boxes for alpine type-e's
custom boxes for alpine type-e's
Hey guys, finally back in work so i can get cracking on my project!
What I want to do is make custom enclosures in the trunk, behind each tail light in the gap just behind the wheel well. I don't know how else to describe this location. But anyways, I don't want to fiberglass as I already have some MDF. The shape of the area where I want to make the enclosure is in the shape similar to that of a rear quarter panel of a car.
Would it be okay to make the entire volume of the box over this weird shape with all the curves of the trunk? Or would it be best to just simply make a rectangular box that fits in this space, then just carpet the rest to give the illusion of one big enclosure, while in fact it is just a simple 7.25x12x14 enclosure?
Also, I would be using the frame of the car as the rear portion of the sub box, so should I get some sound deadening(or damping? cant remember what is that right phrase) material and cover the bare steel that will be in the enclosure?
Sorry for the confusing post, I always have a hard time explaining this. Simply put, just remember that I am using MDF(NO FIBERGLASS)and using 2 10" Alpine type-e subs.
