Those are the specs to tune a certain box volume for a specific number of subs to 40hz. What box size are you using? How many are you using and what size? For example if you want a 3.5 ft^3 box and you are using two 12's you need to build a port that is 56 inches square (ie width times the height of the slot port) and have it 16" long. That tunes it to 40 hz.

i was thinking of going kinda ta spec with the new box .
Larger as in within the recommended range as provided by DD. We did a couple of boxes (aptly called a dog house due to the size of the port) that had it's gross volume land around the 6 cubic foot mark. Subtract the displacement of the subs and the port and it the net volume was 5 cubes. The things wailed in a chevy Tahoe and on the back seat of a Chev Pu. Waaaaay too much bass for me personally but enough to know when they were coming from a long way away.
