huh ? whats a clamp for then ???????
Screws are there for strength, no ???
I read that the glue is the most important for box strength/sealing etc.

the screws act like a clamp... holding the wood together while glue dries

they dont need to be every 1.5 inchs tho..

i will look at the split but it doesn't look that bad.

i would think the glue is there for strength to a degree but mainly for an air tight seal. and the screws help keep it together. the reason i went with him was because he was recommended by most people here, so far i'm happy with things.

glue is the bond
usually the mdf will fail before the glued joint.
and yes brad nails and screws act like clamps holding everything in place while the glue dries.

Might want to check that out !

These things happen... that small of a crack just means that the baffle will NEVER come loose

The least amount of 'panel flex' the box has the better .

The more screws you use, the weaker the enclosure comes. You defiantly dont want a screw every 1.5" thats just overkill and a waste

I'm kinda sauced right now so what i wanted to type was that....

a. The box doesnt need bracing as its not a large ebnough enclosure for it.
b. that split... it doesnt mean . i can promise you that these things happen with MDF and it wont comprimise on the performance.
c. this enclosure is gonna be the and blow up in that sunfire

the box doesnt need bracing, the port walls act as bracing as its a center port, over all the box is well built, and im glad to hear your getting a brad gun and compressor. It makes for a much cleaner box.
