I was just wondering if i drill a tiny hole in the middle of the cabinet, at the bottom, i.e. to pass some sub wire through, will this affect the sound? If it matters they are dual 4OHM HE2 in a sealed box

I have had sealed boxes without the subs being in their own chambers without a problem, you should be o.k. I have heard that the reason for having each sub in it's own chamber is in case one blows or quits working. If they are in a common chamber then the working sub will instantly be playing in twice the airspace, causing it problems. You could always caulk the hole up afterwards, or put one of these between the two chambers:

"...If they are in a common chamber then the working sub will instantly be playing in twice the airspace, causing it problems..."
That's not exactly what happens but it is generally not an ideal situation if one woofer is not working.
And it will be fine to have a small hole between chambers.
