First enclosure builds

Hey Guys, i built my first box last month, and now im building another for a friend. I just need to know if there are things im doing wrong or things i could do better since i'll most likely be making more enclosures. Here are some pics. I dont have as many of the actual build of the first, but my second i do.

First one was for an Eclipse 12" Titanium, 3 cu. ft. @ 30hz

great work. only thing i could suggest is rounding off all port corners and to possibly use primer before painting the ports to ensure a quality finish

The boxes look great . . . but your beer should be in the fridge, not under the box

The box for the MTXs looks a little bit small for 2.8 cubes (1.4 cubes per chamber). Did you factor in port displacement and add that to the over all volume?

i actually did not take that into consideration. i was more limited by trunk space. The guy has an escort ZX2 which doesnt have a lot of trunk space, so i went for a conservative enclosure.

EDIT: Just reread what you wrote, misunderstood...So the ports arent considered part of the volume?

No the ports are not considered part of the box volume. By looking at the pictures, I would guess that the ports are around 0.2 - 0.3 cubic feet so you are effectively working with a box volume of 1.1 - 1.2 per driver . . . then with the smaller volume, the same length ports mean the ports are tuned to a higher frequency. Ported boxes can be a real pain that way.
