Flying woofer syndrome

Flying woofer syndrome
I’ve heard a few people comment about “the flying woofer” syndrome when a sub is in a box that is too big (and or perhaps tuned too low?). But I really no nothing about it other than receiving warnings about the potential damage I could do to my subwoofer.
Is Okay to build a really big box, tune it really low if I’m going to keep the power levels really low?
I have a home Theatre plate amp that does 100WRMS into an 8 ohm load (the amp claims to do 150wrms into a 4ohm load, but it goes into thermal protect at high levels, so I will keep running at 8 ohms where I have never had a problem with it).
I want to take this 100WRMS amp, and pair it with a 10” Rockford Fosgate P210D4 that I have. The Rockford is rated at 250WRMS, so I won’t be giving it anything near its rated power. I want to put this in a 2.5 tuned to 25Hz. This is dangerous because the sub’s fs is 30Hz. Yet, this looks like a box that will do thunder really well. But how great is the risk of the flying woofer syndrome or other mechanical / electrical failures?
Thanks for your input.

one box I built for a client to the specs he insisted on was tuned 18hz below his subwoofers FS and there was no flopping subwoofer effect. although playing sweeps was fun.. Tons of excursion.. which got less and ess, closwer it got to port tuning..then more travel as the frequencies climbed a little..then back to less... it's a cool effect to watch..
