Help with box design for RD Sonance
Would someone be willing to design me a box for a RD Sonance V.2?
I need it to fit in to a space 14"H by 15"W by 18"D (The 18" side sitting on the floor and the driver either down firing on the 18" side or out the back which will actually be the 14x15 side. The box will be sitting with the 18" dimension front to rear between the front seats of a crew cab truck. I think it will wind up sealed but if ported is a better option & the space is there, great. My woodworking skills are decent so if the design winds up a bit complex, no problem. The sub is wound with dual 4ohm coils. I may be slightly underpowered at 657W RMS but I can fix that if it turns out to be a problem.
My primary goal is SQ.
The specs on the sub are as follows:
12" D4
FS 29.9 HZ
RE 7.2 OHM
QMS 5.8
QES 0.494
QTS 0.455
RMS 8.93
CMS 0.099 MM/N
MMS 265.7 G
BL 27.5 TM
SPL@1W 87 DB
VAS 42.8 L
XMAX 19 MM
XCOIL 52 MM

Here are the 3 possible designs I am looking at. Does anyone have any thoughts on pos or neg of each of these? (This is not my console, just an image I found from someone else but the idea is the same)
Option 1: sealed rear firing
Option 2: sealed down firing
Option 3: Ported rear firing:
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Thank you Father (I like the sound of that , especially on Sunday)
I like the idea of downfiring so I measured the sub. The sub is 7-1/4" deep, the box would be 13-3/4"" depth on the 14", so that leaves me 6" less the 3/4" material on the floor so 5-3/4" to split between clearance at the back of the magnet and the opening height for the slot at the floor. Is that enough? Could I eliminate a bottom piece of MDF at the floor and just let it fire right at the floor giving me another 3/4"? Any ideas would be apppreciated.
Thanks again!
