Making another Box

So I installed my system and made a box for my Sub, but I'm not happy with. its roughly 19"x32"x7.5". I have an issue with this build I had the 3/4 mdf pre-cut at work since I dont have access to a table saw, thing is when they finished cutting it that found out the guide was busted and the peices wern't square :S. Now they all had the peices cut and it wasnt that bad so I just went with it. I had some difficultys to put it all together but I got it working. Now its running fine and all but, I chose this design so it would fit in the floor cargo area in the rear of the Rav4. If it wasnt for the cap I could probably put back the cover on top when I need the cargo room, that why I want to make another box.

Here's my current box: Name: untitled.jpg

At the time of the photo I didnt have the grill on the sub and didnt tidy up. For my next setup I was thinking of making it in fiberglass but I never did this befor. Right now if I remember this setup is about 1.72 cubic feet with a .32 port. Now I dont want to spend another weekend to make another box, would any one know someone in Fort McMurray who would make one for me? Local shops are stupid expensive like 100$/h. gah I wish I had my fathers tools but he's in New-Brunswick :S

I find that really expensive per hour. I built boxes for customers at work and I dont charge by the hour for it. I charge by size and features. Plus making a nice box in a fully outfitted shop shouldnt take you more then a working day to build.

Its all relative though.

There was a recent story about FM in a Toronto paper saying that gas jockeys and burger flippers are making $15.00 an hour. Of course it also said a shitty 1 bedroom apartment goes for $1500. or 2k per month.

I think it would be a great place to go make money if you have a marketable skill-set, no kids to drag around, etc, etc.

Do you have enough volume in the box to recess the cap into it? That would get it out of the way, let you close the lid, and save you making a new box.

Cheers

John
