Making a box For my sub---- Confused :s

Basically you can make a box for a woofer at a certain tuning frequency. You can give it the amount of airspace you have and then you can get to a port length and diameter

But iv noticed that u can get the desired tuning frequency by shrinking the airspace and making the port shorter/smaller

So my question is if you have a box tuned at 34 hz with an airspace of o i dont know 2.5 and a port that a program calculates for you
and u have another box tuned to 34 hz with an airspace of 1.5 and a port that a program calculates for you
What is the difference between the 2??
Like are the boxes gonna sound the same cause they tuned to the same frequency or are they gonna sound different cause the airspace is less?

Help greatly appreiciated

Thanks in advance

IT all depends on your driver you select, the program should of included the ts parameters for the driver .

The boxes will indeed sound different if they are different volumes but tuned the same. The difference is in how the driver uses and responds to the air in the box. The tuning point is just that, a single point where the vent resonates at. How the driver responds when not playing that single frequency is dictated by the volume of the box much in the same way a sealed box changes in response when the volume changes.
