My first ported box design, lol.

Alrighty, I have been reading on this stuff and asking lots of questions and I think I did it right. Here are the specs for one of the new subs I am getting...

Kicker 15"
500Wrms
7 16/18" mounting depth

Recomended Enclosure
5 cu feet + port displacement
3" + 15.5" port, 22" long

Based on these specs I think I made the sub enclosure correctly. The picture below is a top view of the enclosure. The HEIGHT of the air space would be 15.5 inches. Did I draw the port correctly? The peach colored space is a tiny bit over 5 cubic feet (if i calculated it right?). Go ahead and don't adress all of my questions directly I just want to know if this would work great for my sub or not.

Also, if I do make this box will I have to set all of my hp's and lp's to certain spots? Cuz that could get confusing.

REMEMBER - The height of the airspace is 15.5 inches. I did not have the time to make a 3d object and label it all.

Ah crap!!! When I was finding the width to fit the needs of the cubic feet I forgot to keep it under 24 inches long because I need two boxes and I only have 48 inches to work with!!! Danget I am mad... Thank you very much though for making that picture. If I hadn't looked at it I would have made the box and I would have been very very mad because it would not have fit. haha, so I thank you sooo much. I must slim the width and extend the depth now.

FINALLY! Haha, after like 10 minutes of calculating and failing I figured out that I forgot to add the measurement of the port on the other box. This is good, I should have the new drawing up in a bit.

I calculated it to be about 200cu inches under the goal of 5cu feet. I am guessing that this won't cause a noticable difference and it will give me room for proper bracing. (although i don't see why there is need to brace a ported box because I don't see pressure being built up if there is a big hole (the port) in the box). If my "blue print" seems to be right and if you guys think it is tuned properly for my sub let me know and I can get started on my new project.

Just a reminder, there is a height of 15.5 inches of airspace in the box.
