Post Neon in a box?

I was wondering if putting neon inside of a sealed SQ box would be harmful to the tube.

Has anyone had an experience doing this?

As long as it's a decent tube and it doesn't get too loud i dont think it would be much of a problem.. i've had a neon mounted in my trunk for a few years now.. and well it survived last year.. so im pretty confident in them

sounds all bad, if the neon is the cheap kind. if you paid a good penny for it then it should withstand

if you wanted to be sure it'd be protected and not affect the sound, you could put it alone one of the edges of the box, behind some plexi.. then it's pretty much in a separate enclosure.

good call. sounds about right. the other thing that you can do is use leds mounted in place of the neon. as my boss says " we're not getting under car neon, were getting under car l.e.d.s"

I am very impressed by those LEDs... the cheapy Canadian Tire ones look like junk but I bet real expensive ones (someone had vids of them somewhere) would look just amazing if done right.
Neons should hold up if they are StreetGlow or another reputable brand like that... sound activated $40 ones would probably break right away.
