big ports kill speakers... i like to keep my stuff working for long periods of time. it's a 3.0 cube box (as per speaker spec's) and i'm going to recalculate the port to be sure but it should be 86.55 cube ( as per speaker spec's) the reccomended port was a 3'' round 4.5 long so 3 ''x9'' half the outside diameter x2 (3.5 '') 1.75 x 1.75 x 3.14 x 9= 86.55

Not necessarily, i had the premier spl series subs with ports for daily listening up to 50 inches per, and they lasted me 2 years, sold to friend a year ago and still work great. If you want youre notes back take out the dynamat and build a proper box or go see frank.

remeasured, found the port is too long inside the box, gonna change it and see what happens. thanx for all your help. i'll torment frank another time!!!
