I can't shift them forward or back in this case at all. The inside depth is 12.5 that's all I got. They just fit in there. Outside box depth is 14" + 4" for amp rack. This is why the port is extended out of the box. It will come flush with the end of the amp rack. The port is only 1.25" tall x 46.5" x a little over 23.5". Hopefully the subs will be O.K. where they are. Only thing I can do to move them is grouping them closer together.

Well, I decided to give my old ported box another try. So here are the pics of the transformation and new amp rack I had to build.

Them new fans are keeping my amps REAL COOL.

Definitely plays much lower. It's now tuned to 32hz. Not liking the lack of cone movement as I'm afraid I'm going to bake a coil. Not enough port area?

There is always building another.... sounds WAY LOUDER than it did sealed.

Question

Less cone movement in a ported box is OK....around the tuning frequency there will be very little motion but lots of air moving thru the port. More port area might help, have you tried varying the port size in WinISD to see how it affects the response curves?......

I used BB6P.... I can only go so large in port area before I run out of room for the box. This is just about as big as I can go. Port is 3 - 14.5 x 1.25". I was playing it earlier and smelled a coil so I had to turn it off for a bit. Hope I can play with the adjustments and get it tuned a little better. I know I'm not crossed over high enough and the subsonic could go a little lower. I'll play with it tomorrow. Still have to do some port rounding and stuff but wanted to make sure I liked it before I finish it.

And I'm sure your right. Yuli has told me that too. This is my same box. I didn't build a new one, just pulled out the wood I used to block the ports and removed the extra wood to take up the airspace when I sealed it. This is the original box I made. After burning up a coil (lack of power and NO subsonic filter), I sealed them to improve cone movement and never had another problem, other than not super loud....

If I don't like this score .... I'll build the subs up port back box but for now, I'm going to play around with what I have.

I say you build a new enclosure with a massive amount of port area. Then, crank your gains all the way up.This in turn will blow the subs at the July 12th show and then you can buy some W7's

lol, I thought you'd have some constructive criticism.... lol I like the W6's but have to say W7's would take my amp a little better. Seriously though .... I think I'd go with a couple 15's or 18's if I ever switch up.
