Port tuning help for SQ

Hey guys,
I'm looking to slap a port in the prefab sealed box I ordered. It's 1.2 cu ft and the dimensions a link are below. I emailed the RE audio Tech and needless to say he was helpful, but i'm thinking his port won't work for me as it might hit the subs huge magnet. I'm guessing 2 smaller diameter ports would be nice on the front below the sub. Is that the best spot for them? Or should I try the single port from the back. If anyone could calculate these 2 ports tuned to 34 hz, I'd really appreciate it. The manual says optimal is 1.25 cu ft tuned to 34 hz. I'm going for a flat SQ response, so I'm assuming that's what they go for in an "optimal" ported enclosure. Oh, and question about flaring them, I heard that changes tuning slightly, would you go slightly longer then?

Here's his comment:

"In the 1,25 sealed box you just purchased, you can produce 79 Db at 40Hz at 1 watt 1 meter away .
In the same enclosure with a 7 square inch port 11 inches long, you will be able to produce 87 db at 40Hz.
If I were you, I would run down to home depot and purchase a 3"PVC tube 11' long, and put it in the enclosure you just purchased."

There's nothing particularly wrong with his recommendation.

So, when I flare the port, it won't effect tuning? Should I go with a 12" long port? What would this port be tuned to, and is it a flat response?

How are you going to flare the port? Or are you planning on buying a flared port? If so, they usually have directions on how to compensate for the flare.
