hofulstrof: i have looked at your avatar, rather intensely, its kinda the reason i want to try an ABC box this time =)

The sketch is just a quick 2 second drawing in ms paint to try and get an idea about its feasability.

If I end the slot ports at the wall of the box, as opposed to extending it into the box, will that create abnormal/unwanted side affect in the resonant chamber?

3/4 slot width was an arbitrary size, its easy to do, since i can put a peice of scrap wood between the slot walls to keep them parrallel and evenly spaced, then pull them out afterwards, 1 1/2 should be almost as easy...

ending the slot ports along a wall of the box will not casuse any negative sideeffects to the box. in fact it will even make you tuning go slightly lower becase it provides better end correction.

thats basicly what i do when i build boxes, cut a few pices the same width as the port and place them in there to be sure that the port stays a constant width..

I finished the math last nite, and unfortunatly, its going to be way big to do the ABC box with these subs =( the port volume alone is about 1.5 cubic feet. I had allocated about 4 for the box volume, so its pretty much not going to fit =(... ah well, it was worth the time to learn...

back to an everyday slot loaded ported box i guess

thanks for all the great advice guys, when i upgraded the subs to something more efficient im going to consider this again, or when i give up on sticking things in the trunk =)

It needs to fit between the shock towers and under the rear-deck, so 32" wide and 16 1/2" tall, depth can be as long as 20", but 16"-18" is much preferable.

When i finished the box layout yesterday, came out to over 25" long, which might fit in the trunk, but im not sure if it could get it into the trunk without dismantleing the car
