RE audio Sx 10" sub box help

I would like to know what size of box and port I should build to have a very loud daily set up but still be able to compete in spl, I am running a kicker zx1000.1 on the sub I know its only one sub and not much power but I want to get the most out of what I have, any help is appreciated

3 cu.ft, with about 35 sq. in of port tuned to 40-43 hz

really? that big? reason I ask is because I have one I built now that is 23"Wx14"Hx15"D with a port 2" wide 22" long, and is tuned to 35.67 Htz and it sounds great but I think a better box would be more efficient and louder...

If you want efficiency you should look at bandpass boxes.

You said you want daily and compete. With low power you would want to tune a little higher to keep decent numbers, if the power is there sure tune it to 34-35. Plus newer cavaliers peak near 49 hz, so tuning to 42-44 would be right where you want ti for competing. And 3 cu.ft. is not that big, although you're trunk might think so.

ok so the box I figured out then is 36" wide 14" high and 16" deep with a port 4" wide and 10.5" deep that gives me 3.093 CF and tuned to 42.7 before adding the sub will this box design work ok? also where is the best place for the sub to go closest to the port or at the other end of the box?

3cf for a single 10?? ... err.... I'd have to disagree with that one.

I'd go with 1.5-2.0cf....

x2

2 cubes after displacements with 2 4" aero ports tuned to 34-36 for daily and tweek them for spl. Its not that much work to swap out port lengths for spl comps. You will be much happier.

I dont have or even know where to get aero ports, I can build slot ports ok haha, so speaking from experience is 2 cubic feet after displacement sufficient? I dont want the sub to wear itself out from too lrage of a box if you know what I mean...like I said the one I have now seems to work very well but I think it is too small, it could be that I am only using about 550 of the 1100 watts that my amp pushes, the Re sx sub says its 1000 rms and 2000 max, and I have a dual 2ohm wired to 4ohms so I know I need a bigger amp but right now I want to build the right kind of box mainly for daily but I wouldnt mind competing once in a while

That is waht i was saying, which i wasnt to clear about. 3 cu.ft after displacements but like i said with more power you may want to make the box smaller.
