slot port question

when it comes to slot ports that incorporate an L piece, does the L piece of the port itself have any negative effects?

^^^ hahaha, lmfao

...turbulence. Thats why people try to incorporate the 45... then instead of a 90 deg bend the air moves smoother bending @ 45's.

man car audio is deadly. but what about a box with the L piece, so like a lower case L

in case you guys can't guess I'm finally, FINALLY gona build this box for my subs (hopefully, caribana weekend is always a forgetful time)

jalat your design is the front runner along with a slot port with the subs up port back, so its gonna be down to which one I think is gonna be louder, but I have no idea yet.

Post pics of the design and make a poll....

Honestly, I think my design will work best, because i've had success with that style of enclosure in an SUV and I would think it would do well in a van also

Yes. If you have no other choice but to have a corner, try to make the bend as gradual and smooth as possible.

well jalat you're design did look the coolest so its tempting. the slot port looks easy, but with all the space back there it makes me wonder wether it will load nicely. if I do do your box jalat I'm going to shrink it down jusssssssssst a tad

Dont shrink it, just brace the inside lots. Then add an inch to the length of the port.

thats a ton of bracing though, no? I figure shrinking the box and extending the port an inch will do the same job. either way I'll put up pics of both when I get some time
