Post Speaker Box Design Help

Hi Everyone..

Since attending a Competition on sunday I have decided to go to a ported subwoofer enclosure and to discard my sealed box.

I have All the parameters for my sub (Fs/Qes/Qms/Qts/Vas/Xmax/Sd/Re) as well as the manufactures specs of 1.75 ft3 and a 4 inch round port cut at 15".

I have looked at winisd and I get completly lost in the equasions.

I need someone to design a box for me, that will be competitive in SPL, but still sound good for everyday, and i know that with the right box i can out perform a factory specified box.

Who builds boxes to spec frequencies and could design me a sub box for my pair of W3's.. I just need the plans for it perferably with a square port??

Are your 12W3's the original series, or the version 2 ones? Running all the coils in parallel for a 1.5 ohm load? How much room do you have to work with, maximum, in the trunk of your car?

They are the original's / 2yrs old / running in Parallel Stereo at 3ohm a side.. The Amp dis-agree's with the mono 1.5ohm load.

The car is a 4 door 97 Olds Cutlass Supreme, I have 33" in between the trunk hinges, 38" from sidewall to sidewall / about 42" from the seat to the trunk and about 20" high.

The car is identical as a 94-97 Grandprix 4 door to give a good idea..

I have another member on the board thats about an hour away which is gonna measure it up and give me a rough idea of size and cost.

The sealed enclosure i have now is a prefab with approx 1.25 cubic feet per side, it worked well for my old set of W0's..

Any idea's are more than welcome..

Try calling Arlindo @ Audio Illusion
905-842-2419

He used to compete in IASCA SQ and Idbl.
I asked him to design and build a custom sub box for two 12's that would hit 135 db but still sound good. I can hit between 135-138 and it sounds pretty damn good IMHO.
