Question sub box designing

hey guys,

im doing rear seat delete pretty soon completely fiberglass first fiberglass project... i will have some help i know a few guys that are pretty good with it and they have agreed to help me if needed.

ive been design and coming up with some ideas for the rear seat and kinda spill over like a water fall kinda into the trunk for custom base... im not very good at drawing so i was wondering if there was a computer program out there that could be helpful...

im advanced at computers so if it wasnt so basic wouldnt be a problem but im tired of using paint lmao its just not 3D looking and unporportional lol...

if any one had any ideas or there expert box builders pm me its in a dodge stealth/3000gt rear seat delete.

thanks
mike

try a program called SketchUp by google, i use it to design any houses or anything that requires a CAD program! last time i checked it was a free program, and it has 3D it also lets you look 360 degrees around your project, side to side and top to bottom. and it has features like AutoCAD has! (AutoCAD can cost up to 4000$)

thank you for that info... that program is awesome only 480 minute trail tho... but i managed to "create" box design i sort of want just got to "dimensionalize" it to fit my car...

now on to fiberglassing... whats the best way to do so???
ive seen people say 1" x 4" strips and others just use it like bigger pieces like 4" x 4" and others doing as small as 1" x 1"...

also is there a website to get better buys for the supplies as i see there not cheap around here and they may not be the best... recommendations?

thanks
mike

Download basic google sketchup NOT pro. The basic version is free. I think when I first downloaded it they give you pro free for the trial time limit, then it will update itself to the basic version if you choose to not continue using pro (pay for it).

You can get a free version. I use it almost daily.

Square size will depend on what you are trying to cover. When I am doing a project I first precut all of my mat into pieces about the size of a piece of paper (8x10), and then reduce some into piles of half that (8x5), and half of that both ways (8x2.5 and 4x5) and then some around 2x3. I arrange them all on a board so I can use the appropriate size for the area I need to cover.
