ok heres the deal. the sub is a dual 4 ohm not dual 2. runs on the amp fine. turns out what i was thinking. one voice coil was shot on the sub and i just blew the last one out today. the Motherf*cker ripped me off. is it possible to send this in to get repaired?

out of curiosity , could you possibly have had your gains too high and beat it harder than it was ment to be beat ?

The exact same thing happened to my friend when he bought two L7's off ebay except only one was fried. Only his didnt smoke the whole system shut down and then turned back on. After a bit we traced it to the one sub and took it out of the box and the whole truck filled with the sweet smell of kicker smoke. He contacted the guy who sold it to him on ebay and the guy payed the shipping back to him and sent him a brand new one. Check with the guy who you bought it from because sometimes they have the compassion to help you out............sometimes.

i have gone through about 3 of these and had the same problem, and i was running a us amp (ab class 600) on each, and after about 1 yr i could smell it burning. they are great sounding speakers and hit really hard but be careful to the power on them. from my experience with them they tend to blow alot.

It must be you being an idiot. My friend put 1250w to each of his L7's for months with no damage at all.

maybe your feeding the subs dirty power i know the square subs dont last too long with a clipped signal, try finding a scope to set the amps
