Question

*edit* - i'm gonna read thru the boxdesigner portion of the linearteam page**

Apparenlty i'm retarded, cause i somehow can't find the thread thru the search engine that talked about various box ideas with the type r subs.

What i'm lookin for is some general ported box specifications for a pair of 12" type r's. I know there was one person that ended up building a box or two and am more so wondering how it all worked out.

I'd download winISD (or whatever it is) and just sort this out on my own...but now the thought that i might be a retard seems better and better as that program never did make much sense to me.

Alternatively if someone builds a box in winisd and can save whatever they did and send it to me....i'd like to try and see what a finished product should look like outta that program and see if i can work it out from there.

All in all, back to the box something that'll sound decent about 33-35Hz from what i understand about daily driving tuning. There's no realy limitations to the box, as it's going in th eback of a jeep, and generally have just about the whole back to work with. The only requirement is either the depth or width depending on how you place the box can't be more than like 32" or so.

if wanting specs here's a couple:

Power Handling Capacity (RMS) : 300W

**Thiel Small Parameters**
Coil Height (Hvc) : 37.74mm
Cone Area (Sd) : 467.59 sq. cm
D.C.Coil Resistance (Re) : 3.6 ohm + 3.6 ohm
Electrical Q (Qes) : 0.45
Equivalent Suspension Stiffness (Vas) : 58 liters(2.04cu.ft.)
Free Air Resonance (Fs) : 28Hz
Frequency Response : 24Hz - 1kHz
Gap Height (Hag) : 10mm
Impedance (Nominal) : 4 ohm + 4 ohm
Inductance (Le) : 3.85mH at 1kHz (1.34mH at 20kHz)
Linear Excursion (X linear) : 13.87mm
Maximum Excursion (X peak) : 27.7mm
Mechanical Excursion (Peak-to-Peak) : 55mm
Mechanical Q (Qms) : 8.31
Sensitivity : 87 dB/W/M
Total Loudspeaker Q (Qts) : 0.43

in the process, i've created the following in winisd

I'm currently understanding that the optimum box would be 5.057 ft^3 tuned to 26.23Hz and that to make it so you'd need one 4.02 x 4.02 x 9.33 port or equivalent. (tell me if i'm at least right on that)

If someone can throw in a quick explanation about how i can change this to benefit myself, or what the graphs on the left mean, that'd be neat!

Stop what you're doing right now, uninstall that crap, and download WinISD Pro ... Then download the update from the linearteam.org WinISD forum ...
