2.5V V.S 4 Volt, Your Opinions?

You said you werent feeling the Alpines, and now the Pioneers are out too. Both my faves. It's a sad day. I think it really makes no diff what brand you buy for that much money. I would look into cosmetics you like, and appealing to you functionality. SQ will be comparable no matter what you go with.

I still think that you should go with an alpine even if you don't like how they look. If your going for sound quality all the alpine decks we've tested at work, the pre-outs never have a clipped signal no matter the volume. So no matter what the preout voltage is you'll know the distortion is because your reaching the performance limits of your system. Not because you got chitty preouts or a chitty HU

Kirk, I think I was looking at that one at Future Shop.
Again, for some reason the display turns me away....probably just me being crazy. I'm not big on the whole iPod dealy ethier. Don't own one, and don't plan on it. All my music in the car comes from Mp3 cd's, so iPod capability isn't a big thing for me. Sub control, decent EQ, HPF and LPF if possible, in a nice looking package with a nice display, that's basically my outline.

Sony Head Unit
I've been looking at this head unit. Only problem is that it doesn't have a dedicated sub pre-out.
But you could always run the rear speakers of the deck, and use the rear pre-outs for your subwoofer signal.
Though that would pretty much defeat the purpose of having that 4 channel PG amp.
Is Sony a bad word around here? No one else had mentioned that brand...
