So should any reputable shop know about all this?

Also since it is relocated into the truck is it still active? I mean could you acidentally hit the buttons on it (by going over a bump) and have it change the stations or is it disconnected from the stero system?

I plan on having it installed but I want to make sure it is done right.

I have the same, all powerd everything and not 1 single issue at all, yes the higher end stuff like Escalade etc etc do rely on the radio and **** like that for there stuff to work, but I called gm and with Cavaliers being very basic they said there wouldn't be any major issue, as stated before I went to the delership and had them check everything out, no codes as well the Dealership made good point if the system is using the radio, where's the wires going in? and if the wires are going out, where are leading out from? the main wires going into/out from radio are all listed as Speakers, power, ground etc etc nothing going to the ECM of the car etc, either way it's his choice I did mine, my way no issue and saved like 170$ or whatever it might have been...... Soo it's buddies call really..

Talking

There is a new harness out that allows retention of the DATA CLASS 2 crap, that keeps the chime etc, without relocating the deck. Loose the factory but it is an interface that works. I'm not sure who makes it but you can contact the Canadian distributor at 604-270-7316.
