It's going to be difficult to find another grill other than the w7's style especially how the box is already built and finished.

I usually flush mount, which makes it easier and use a larger diameter grill or fab up something to your liking.

Now that you've been enjoying the system for a while, do you feel the need to run the L3 with the tweets?

Could you get by with just the L3's?

I ask because I've read some guys running just the mid w/o tweeter and wanted to get some feedback.

You could get by sure. However it definitely isn't the same as having them. Just because they can do it, doesn't mean it is ideal.

I wouldn't run them without.

Either way you need a decent DSP though. Either to fix the top end of the mids or to integrate them.

They were the only ones that I could find that looked decent and still had the clearance needed with the IDMaxes
