2k3 Maxima + engine noise diagnostic HELP!
#1
Hey guys, real weird problem..
I have a Kenwood MP919 in my car, running to a kicker 550.3 amp. Strangest thing is since i got it installed, i had this really annoying engine hum and whine combo... so i attributed it to bad ground on the head..
Amp is okay because i tested with no RCA, no hum.. So today i removed my front dash, and regrounded the head unit..
Now i have two sets of RCAs running to the rear, (KNUKONCEPT PURPLE RCAS).. when i hook up the front set of RCA's (front speakers), no noise... But as soon as i plug in the sub RCA's i get noise... I swap the RCAs and still the same thing..
I guess the RCA's are defective, but is there a band aid fix?

use a ground loop isolater on the sub RCA cables. That will solve it. From past systems I have done Involving kenwood headunits and the new kx series kicker amps, I have had lots of grounds loop problums.
