2ohm DVC sub reading high on hte ohm meter?

this seems weird to me.... i have a 2ohm DVC sub sitting beside me and when wired parallel i get 1.8ohms which seems pretty high to me... one coil reads 2.9 and the other 2.8

any ideas whats going on?

You're reading DCR, but the rating on the subs is going to be an average of Z (impedance), which varies with frequency.

I wouldn't worry, sounds about right.

Also... the leads on your DMM have some resistance.

Best thing to do is touch them together and find out what the impedance is on the wires before checking the VC... the subtract that from the total

2 ohm coils should read around 1.4 - 1.6 ohms DCR...

Sounds to me like your sub is more like a dual 4...

the sub was never available in a 4ohm DVC

i htink i know the issue when i went to check the resistance of the DMM it was at 1.1ish and then the red rod thing broke off the wire lol so htere was a loose connection.... i stripped the wire abit so hte bare wire was sticking out and i touched it to hte black rod to check resistance again and it was .7

so im thining if i go check the sub again it will read fine
