6", 4" speakers in 91 mustang door

A stereo shop installer said making these door speakers fit in my car (91 Mustang trunk model, PW and PDL) would cost a couple hundred bucks…any other ideas/enclosures that would work?
Speakers are a component set:

MB Quart component set w/COMPETITION 3 WAYcrossovers
QM160TX2 6"
QM100MX2 4"
2" TWEETERS

Well your two mounting spots in that car are the doors, and the dash. Past there you're going to have to get something custom mounted in the door, kickpanel, or A-pillar. All of those options are going to run at least a couple hundred dollars.

is it worth the money to do so--are these speakers worth the investment?

I saw your post first on Carsound and replied to that, but I'll do it here too.

That's not bad. How is he planning to do it? Most often I've seen pods or build-outs attached to where the factory door speaker grille is. A fancier setup is what I used to have in my car 88 GT, but those pre-fab door panel build-outs were discontinued many years ago.

Since you have power windows, you are only pretty much limited by your budget.

I suggest you do it just like in those pics. The door panel build out doesn't have to be as fancy.

IMO I would forget using the dash spots or the Apillars in that car. Go with KPs. As for cost, probably going to be $300+ for the KPs and $150+ for the doors if they need to make a panel.
